The Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) Course is a nationally recognised qualification that provides learners with the knowledge and practical skills needed to respond to a range of workplace emergencies. It is suitable for individuals and businesses looking to meet basic first aid requirements.
This course is ideal for anyone who may be required to act as a workplace first aider. It is also a mandatory prerequisite for many SIA security training courses, including Door Supervisor and Security Officer qualifications.
The Emergency First Aid at Work Course is typically completed in one day. During the training, learners will take part in practical exercises and gain confidence in responding to emergency situations.
You will learn how to assess emergency situations, perform CPR, use an automated external defibrillator (AED), manage an unconscious casualty, deal with choking, control bleeding, and respond to common workplace injuries and illnesses.
No previous qualifications or first aid experience are required. The course is suitable for complete beginners and is delivered in a practical and easy-to-understand format.
The Emergency First Aid at Work qualification is valid for three years. It is recommended that learners refresh their skills regularly and renew their qualification before it expires.
