NCL Training is a Newcastle upon Tyne–based training provider specialising in SIA Security Courses, First Aid qualifications, and industry-relevant education designed to help individuals start, progress, and succeed in their careers.

We were created to offer something different — training that is professional, supportive, and genuinely focused on preparing people for real-world roles within the security industry.

Hi, I'm Tony!

I am a qualified Tutor, and have worked within the UK security industry for the last 10 years. Prior to this I worked in the maritime industry, providing armed security to vessels transiting high risk areas (pirates!) My career started in the British army where I served for 12 years within 3 commando brigade, also spending 2 years as an instructor training military recruits.

I am the owner of NCL Training and deliver our SIA courses as well as our FAW and EFAW training. Being the fool I am and having a baby after the age of 40 doesn’t leave much time for additional hobbies!

My biggest aspiration is to create ‘THE’ place to be for the security industries training needs, whilst maintaining our welcoming, friendly and relaxed family feel.

I am always on hand to talk you through our courses and provide you with the most up to date and accurate information from the industry. I strive to be transparent in all we offer and promote an ‘if you don’t need it I wont sell it’ ethos.

Hi, I'm Sam!

I am a qualified teacher and have spent many years working in the education and training sector.


I am the training coordinator, IQA and designated SEND lead and Mental Health First Aider here at NCL Training. You may also find me teaching our First Aid courses, especially our Paediatric First aid!


It is my goal to create a quality learning experience here at NCL and ensure that all of our learners get the support and guidance that they deserve. If you have a diagnosis or just find some things tricky and need some additional encouragement, I’m your girl!


You will usually find me based in the office 2 days a week. When I’m not here I can be found working from home whilst looking after Baby NCL. I am always on hand to discuss all of your learning needs and to guide you through any questions, queries or concerns you may have.


I can’t wait to meet you and hopefully be a part of the best training you have ever experienced!

Hi, I'm Andy!

I am a freelance training instructor working with NCL Training.

I have over 10 years experience as a tutor and invigilator. Working in many different settings has given me a wealth of knowledge and developmental exposure. I aim to provide stimulating and interactive training to enhance your learning and development.

If you are tight on time then don’t get me started on Golf or Cycling as I can’t guarantee that I will stop talking!

Hi, I'm Maddie!

I am currently studying Adult Nursing at Northumbria University. Prior to this I studied Health and Social Care at Newcastle College, where I completed a placement at NCL.

I am an admin assistant here at NCL Training and also support the tutors teaching First Aid so I can gain more knowledge and skills.

My goal is to take over the world … I mean the NCL social media account! I feel like the amount of time I spend on social media makes me the perfect candidate for the role. So when you see an NCL post pop up, give it a like and a share to help me seal the deal please!
