Course Content
The Highfield Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work covers the following key areas:
Unit 1: Emergency First Aid in the Workplace
- The role and responsibilities of a first aider.
- Assessing an incident.
- Managing an unresponsive casualty.
- CPR and AED use.
- Dealing with shock, choking, and minor injuries.
Unit 2: Recognition and Management of Illness and Injury in the Workplace
- Responding to a casualty with a bone, muscle, or joint injury.
- Managing head, neck, and spinal injuries.
- Dealing with eye injuries and sudden poisoning.
- Recognizing and treating anaphylaxis.
- Understanding common workplace illnesses such as diabetes, epilepsy, and asthma.
