The Highfield Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work is a comprehensive course designed to equip individuals with the essential skills and knowledge to manage first aid emergencies in the workplace effectively. This qualification is regulated by Ofqual and is ideal for anyone responsible for first aid within their organisation, or for those seeking to enhance their first aid capabilities.

This course is delivered using blended learning. 12 hours (2 x 6 hr days) are delivered face to face within the classroom, with one of highly qualified instructors and 6 hours of online elearning. During your face to face training you will complete a range of practical activities and assessments, aswell as a short multiple choice examination.

Unit 1: Emergency First Aid in the Workplace

  • Dealing with shock, choking, and minor injuries.

Unit 2: Recognition and Management of Illness and Injury in the Workplace

  • Responding to a casualty with a bone, muscle, or joint injury.
  • Managing head, neck, and spinal injuries.
  • Dealing with eye injuries and sudden poisoning.
  • Recognizing and treating anaphylaxis.
  • Understanding common workplace illnesses such as diabetes, epilepsy, and asthma.

Assessment and Certification

  • Assessment: Participants are assessed through a combination of practical demonstrations, oral questioning, and written tests to ensure they have the necessary knowledge and skills.
